RubinBrown, one of the nation’s top 50 accounting and business consulting firms, recently hired Kara Hernandez, JD, LL.M, as a manager in the State and Local Tax Services (SALT) Group for its Kansas City office.
Hernandez assists clients with state and local tax issues, primarily focusing on income/franchise tax. Over the course of her 12-year career working in Big Four accounting firms, she has gained extensive experience in state income tax consulting and controversy, as well as managing large multi-state compliance engagements for companies of varying sizes and industries.
Hernandez earned her LL.M in Taxation from the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Law; her JD from the University of Missouri – Columbia School of Law; and her B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies (English, Journalism, Education) from the University of Missouri – Columbia. She is a member of the Missouri bar.
