Own IT. Secure IT. Protect IT.
October is the 16th Annual National Cyber Security Awareness Month and a great time to update your security awareness training program – or start one. The 2019 theme is “Own IT. Secure IT. Protect IT.” This theme emphasizes taking proactive steps to understand your exposure, implementing appropriate security, and staying aware and vigilant for cyber threats. These steps will help us all protect ourselves and our organizations from cyber criminals looking for easy targets to steal personal information, intellectual property, trade secrets and money.
Cyber Security Awareness Month includes a wide variety of free resources you can use to augment, modify, or create your own security awareness program. Security awareness programs with monthly touch points using short videos, email reminders, phishing testing, posters and other reminders significantly improve user awareness and reduce the likelihood a cyber-attack will result in a loss or breach.
Use these free resources to get started and look for additional materials all through October:
Take the opportunity to help your users stay safe online at work and at home!
