Recognizing that the legislation and accounting rules governing employee benefit plans are both unique and complex, RubinBrown has established a group which specializes in this area. Our Benefit Plan Audit Services Group annually provides comprehensive audit and consulting services to approximately 325 benefit plans nationally. These plans consist of all types - defined contribution 401(k), including 11-K filers, defined contribution 403(b), defined benefit pension, ESOP, health and welfare, and Taft-Hartley multiemployer plans.
Members of the Benefit Plan Audit Services possess a high level of expertise in auditing plans of varying sizes and complexity. Our team of experienced professionals are familiar with the specialized accounting, tax, compliance and regulatory reporting aspects of ERISA qualified plans.

RubinBrown is proud to be a member of the AICPA Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center, and has served on various AICPA committees related to employee benefit plans. RubinBrown has, for many years, been involved in helping plan and present the AICPA’s annual Employee Benefits Conference.
As required by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 for any accounting firm auditing the financial statements of public companies, RubinBrown is registered with the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). Retirement plans with SEC filings fall under the category of a public entity.
